Essex Solutions is pleased to announce that its ECOR rod & foundry facility in Columbia City, Indiana will participate in The Copper Mark Assurance Process as part of its re-certification cycle. The site audit is scheduled to take place April 28-May 1, 2026.
The Copper Mark is a globally recognized framework that promotes responsible production practices across the value chain. Participation in the Assurance Process reflects the continued commitment that ECOR has to sustainability, responsible sourcing, environmental stewardship, and the protection of its employees as well as the surrounding community.
“As responsible copper rod production continues to play a critical role in the electrification of the future, maintaining certification through The Copper Mark demonstrates our commitment to operating with transparency and accountability,” said Austin Robinson, Global Corporate Sustainability Manager. “We welcome stakeholder engagement as part of the process and value the perspectives that help strengthen our operations.”
As part of the process, stakeholders are invited to share relevant input with the independent assessor conducting the review. Essex considers a stakeholder to be an individual or group that can affect or be affected by our business; or has a vested interest in the decisions made and implemented by our leadership teams. As a privately held company with a global footprint, stakeholders can include governments or regulators as well as our board members, employees, customers, suppliers, and the communities surrounding our locations.
The independent assessment will be conducted by Jane Dan of SLR Consulting. Stakeholders who wish to provide comments or request a meeting with the assessor during the audit period may do so by contacting the assessor at [email protected]. Questions about the assurance process may also be directed to The Copper Mark at [email protected].
Stakeholders also have access to formal mechanisms to raise concerns or disputes related to the assurance process or the facility’s conformance with The Copper Mark requirements. Additional information can be found through the following resources:
ECOR will remain fully operational during the assessment period, and the audit activities will not impact production schedules, product availability, or service to customers. Participation in The Copper Mark Assurance Process reinforces the ongoing focus on responsible copper production and transparency with stakeholders while maintaining safe, reliable, and sustainable operations.
